Security

Claim data is sensitive. We build like it.

Receipts, utility bills, claim numbers, addresses, and displacement details deserve a credible security posture from day one — not a later add-on.

PII & claim data sensitivity

Claims carry names, addresses, claim numbers, family displacement details, and financial records. LossLedger treats this as sensitive PII and handles it accordingly across the product.

Secure upload links

Insureds submit through secure, claim-specific links rather than open inboxes — keeping documents scoped to the right claim from the first upload.

Role-based permissions

Claim-level access controls separate what a claims processor can do from what the public adjuster approves, so the review step that makes a report defensible can't be bypassed.

Audit logs

A timestamped record of uploads, edits, approvals, exclusions, and exports follows each claim — supporting both internal review and a defensible submission.

Encrypted storage

Documents and claim data are stored encrypted. Security is built in from the start, not bolted on later.

Receipt authenticity certification

Users certify that uploaded receipts are authentic records of actual transactions — establishing accountability at the point of upload.

Anti-fraud controls

Duplicate detection, OCR confidence flags, and an explicit prohibition on fabricated, AI-generated, or synthetic receipts help keep the documentation trustworthy.

SOC 2 readiness roadmap

LossLedger is designed with SOC 2 readiness in mind. We are not claiming certification; we are building toward it with the controls and documentation a future audit requires.

Data retention & export controls

Configurable retention, plus data export and deletion controls, so claim data is kept and removed deliberately — not indefinitely by default.

A note on our claims

We describe our security posture honestly. Where a capability is on the roadmap rather than complete, we say so.

SOC 2 is referenced as a readiness roadmap. LossLedger is designed with SOC 2 readiness in mind and has not represented that an audit has been completed.

LossLedger helps organize and present ALE reimbursement documentation. Final coverage and payment decisions depend on the policy, facts of loss, carrier review, and the public adjuster's professional judgment.
